About International Photography Awards
The International Photography Awards conducts an annual competition for professional, non- professional, and student photographers on a global scale, creating one of the most ambitious and formidable competitions in the contemporary world of photography. The IPA is determined to recognize and award photoraphy's leading talent, who are creating, shaping and changing the world of photography today.
IPA invites passionate photographers, professionals and non-professionals alike, to compete in this comprehensive competition, judged by a board of esteemed photo editors, curators, gallery owners, art directors and other luminaries from the international photography community. The winners of the main categories listed below will compete for IPA's top award of International Photographer of the Year. Those finalists will be invited to attend the Lucie Awards at the Lincoln Center, New York, where one photographer will be announced as the grand winner, earning the coveted Lucie Statue and a cash prize of $10,000 provided by AtEdge.
In an effort to cultivate and showcase emerging talent, all non-professional entries are also eligible for the Discovery of the Year Award, lauding best up-and-coming artist, which includes a Lucie and a $5,000 cash prize. Finally, the Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year is a title that is given to a photographer of any level, based on the quality of both their images and stories and their ability to evoke emotion to inspire others and will receive a Lucie and $5,000 cash prize.
LUCIE AWARDS:
The international photography community will pay tribute to the year's most outstanding photography achievements presented at the Lucie Awards ceremony held at the Lincoln Center, New York. Honors will also be given for Lifetime Achievement, distinguishing some of the world's greatest men and women whose life's work in fashion, photojournalism, advertising, documentary, portraiture, sports and fine art merit the highest acclaim by their peers. The winners of the following titles International Photographer of the Year, Discovery of the Year, and Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year will also each receive a Lucie Statue and be recognized on stage for their achievements. In addition to earning the chance to compete for the top two prizes, the category winners will each also receive two tickets to the Lucie Awards, a free copy of the Annual Awards Book and the following titles:

Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year
Editorial Photographer of the Year
Photography Book of the Year (professionals only)
Fine Art Photographer of the Year
Nature Photographer of the Year

BEST OF SHOW EXHIBITION:
Each year, the IPA will invite an established curator to select 40-50 images from both the professional and non-professional pools of first, second, and third place winners to be exhibited in an exclusive show in New York City, during the week leading up to the Lucie Awards gala. The Best of Show will then travel to various countries to be included in photo festivals, galleries, and other photography related events.
AWARD BOOK:
In addition, the work of all first, second and third place winners will be published in the high-quality, full-color, hardcover award winning Annual International Photography Awards Book.
